Metro Hackathon Concludes with Crocusoft as Main Sponsor: Introducing AI-Driven Solutions

The 3-day project aimed at the digital transformation of the Baku Metro transport system and passenger flow management has successfully concluded. As the main sponsor of the event, participating in this initiative holds special significance for our company.

Metro Hackathon preparations included information sessions held in 5 leading universities with the participation of over 300 students. The competition featured 18 teams, each consisting of 4 randomly selected members. The teams performed under the names of metro stations ("Icherisheher", "Sahil", "28 May", "Ganjlik", "Bakmil", "Ulduz", "Koroglu", "Gara Garayev", "Neftchilar", "Hazi Aslanov", "Khatai", "Jafar Jabbarli", "Nizami", "Elmler Akademiyasi", "Inshaatchilar", "Nasimi", "Darnagul", and "8 November"). During the first two days, in a specially created zone at the "Icherisheher" station, the teams worked on real metro databases to develop their Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineering and data analytics solutions.

Smart City standards, goals, and winners

Smart City projects target the integration of youth's innovative ideas into real infrastructure solutions. On May 3, presentations were held in the Technology Building of the Baku Metro before a jury of 5 professional experts. By unanimous decision, the "Khatai" team won 1st place and a cash prize of 5,000 AZN. The "Ganjlik" team took 2nd place (3,000 AZN), and the "Sahil" team secured 3rd place (1,000 AZN). The winners and promising participants were granted opportunities to implement their projects into the metro system and gain additional experience for their future careers.
